East Greenville Animal Hospital is a full service small animal veterinary clinic offering a wide range of services including routine and sick pet care.

  • Wellness/Preventive Care

We perform a thorough, head to tail physical exam on every patient. Our exam findings combined with your pet’s medical and behavioral history via information from you help us to develop a plan and/or schedule to meet your individual pet’s needs.

In combination with regular physical examinations, we recommend that your pet receive appropriate vaccinations for their age, lifestyle, and health status. For more information, please see our Wellness/Preventative Care page.

  • Radiology

Radiology (X-ray) is a very helpful tool used to diagnosis problems with your pet. The images that the x-ray provides allow us to visualize structures inside the body. We are fortunate to have radiology equipment that produces high quality images in a short period of time, thus allowing for a timely diagnosis.

  • Ultrasound

Ultrasound (sonogram) is an advanced imaging technique that allows us to look inside of your pet’s body without any pain, needles or even sedation in most cases. With our new, high resolution Toshiba ultrasound, many hours of advanced training and years of clinical experience, our doctors can perform studies of almost all of your pet’s organs. Feline and canine cardiac/heart studies allow us to diagnose subclinical heart problems. Abdominal studies allow us to scan directly through your pet’s organs including the bladder, liver, kidneys and intestines. These studies significantly improve our ability to diagnose, treat and follow progress for your animal.

  • Bloodwork and Diagnostics

We have several options for blood and diagnostic work. We are able to run in-house blood panels which provide results very quickly. For other tests, we send samples to specialized commercial laboratories. Sending samples away allows us to run more detailed or complex testing. We will work with you to figure out which option makes the most sense for you and your pet.

  • Anesthesia

At East Greenville Animal Hospital, we offer a wide array of anesthesia options ranging from full, general anesthesia to sedation and local nerve blocks. We perform a cardiovascular assessment on every patient on the same day as their planned procedure. Having multiple anesthetic options allow us to cater to each animal’s individual needs and make anesthesia as safe as possible for your pet. During every procedure, your pet’s vital signs are monitored closely using a variety of methods and monitors. Someone from our hospital’s medical staff will stay with your pet throughout the anesthetic procedure in order to monitor their vital signs until they are fully awake and stable. Your pet’s safety is our top priority.

  • Surgery

Our facilities and equipment allow us to perform a wide variety of surgeries ranging from routine to more extensive and invasive procedures. Please see our ‘what to expect on the day of surgery’ page for more details.

  • Dentistry

We perform multiple dentistries each week. These dental procedures range from basic tooth cleanings to more complex procedures such as extractions or oral surgeries. Each patient is evaluated on an individual basis to determine the best approach for any given condition.

  • Parasite Prevention

We carry medications to control or eliminate a wide assortment of parasites. Fleas, ticks, and other parasites are most prevalent during the summer and fall months, but many parasites can live in or on your pets year round. There are a number of parasites common to pets that can be harmful to humans and many of these dangerous parasites cannot easily be seen. Frequent parasite checks and anti-parasite medication protocols can significantly reduce the risk that parasites pose to your pet and to your family.

  • Pain Management

Animals can experience pain from a multitude of conditions and they may express this pain in a number of different ways. The doctors at EGAH utilize a variety of medications and methods to help manage or eliminate pain whenever possible.

  • Behavior Counseling

We can help you and your pet work through many problem behaviors such as separation anxiety, storm/firework phobias, aggression, spraying/house soiling and others. Please do not hesitate to ask us about any behavioral concerns that you may have. It is our goal to help foster healthy, happy relationships between pets and their families.

  • Microchip Implanting and Scanning

A microchip is a tiny computer chip that can be placed inside your pet. About the size of a piece of long grain rice, the microchip is implanted under the skin using a special needle. This microchip acts as a permanent form of identification for the entire life of your pet. This method of permanent identification cannot then be lost, stolen, altered or removed; thus it is a great, easy way to protect your pet from being lost or stolen. At East Greenville Animal Hospital, we use Bayer ResQ microchips. If you would like more information on this specific microchip, please see: or

  • Pharmacy and Nutrition

We carry a complete inventory of medications, flea and tick preventatives, vitamins, shampoos and heartworm medications as well as both prescription & maintenance pet foods. All products that we carry at East Greenville Animal Hospital come directly from the manufacturers or reputable distributors.

    Online Pharmacies

We will be happy to write or sign prescriptions for medications that your animal may need so that you may get the medication wherever you desire (including online pharmacies). We recognize the desire of many clients to purchase their pet’s medications online. Although there may be some savings with a select few medications, please be aware of some potential drawbacks of ordering medications online. When a medication is purchased through a veterinarian, many manufacturers guarantee the product’s efficacy and in some cases have ‘insurance-like’ policies where they will pay for medical expenses associated with medication failures. When these medications are purchased online, however, the manufacturer does not provide any guarantees because the websites cannot always guarantee that the medication is legitimate. Many online medications are acquired by purchasing huge quantities of product through veterinarians – some of whom are unprincipled veterinarians who want to make an easy profit by selling the pharmacy oversees counterfeit medications. All of the medications at EGAH are purchased directly from the manufacturer’s distributors and are typically comparable if not less expensive than many online pharmacy prices.

  • Hospice and Euthanasia Services

For many pet lovers, the declining condition of a beloved pet and/or the loss of a good friend are some of the most heartbreaking experiences they will ever face. At East Greenville Animal Hospital, we make every effort to make these difficult experiences as tolerable as possible. We deeply respect the human-animal bond and will do our best to help you navigate these difficult decisions and emotional situations.

  • Boarding

We offer boarding for both dogs and cats. Our boarding facilities include a variety of options for your pet’s comfort, including a dedicated cat room, a room of large dog runs, a room of medium and small dog runs, as well as a room with a variety of other stainless steel cages. We take care to make sure your pet is placed in an appropriate area. All boarders are closely monitored (we keep daily boarding records of their activities, diet, and bathroom trips). Each animal receives personal attention from our caring staff and daily checks by Dr. Davis. If any problems occur while your pet is boarding, the staff is able to call Dr. Davis at any time to assess your animal and provide any necessary care. Dogs are taken outside and exercised multiple times daily. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Friday. For the safety of all animals in our facility, dogs must be current on vaccinations for Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Distemper/Parvovirus and Rabies; and cats must be current on vaccinations for Feline Distemper and Rabies.

  • Bathing and Grooming

Routine bathing services with toenail trims are available by appointment during our regular office hours. Again, dogs must be current on vaccinations for Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Distemper/Parvovirus and Rabies; and cats must be current on vaccinations for Feline Distemper/FVRCP and Rabies. Sanitary clips are also available. Anal gland expression is available by request, but is not recommended as a routine part of bathing and grooming.
